A Philippine journalist has been shot dead in a “cowardly” murder, authorities say.
Filipino journalist Cordero Duval got into a fight with three men in a bar, who allegedly fired a shot that pierced his heart.
Mr Duval worked as a correspondent for numerous media organisations.
He was just 25 years old.
“This is a very brutal murder,” Benito Ramos, the president of the Commission on Human Rights, told reporters.
“It is a cowardly murder. His life should be celebrated,” he added.
Authorities have arrested one suspect and are hunting for another.
Carlos Almeda, the police chief of Quezon city in the southern Philippines, said: “He may have wanted revenge because of past wrongs.”
Mr Duval had been receiving threats on social media, particularly from people upset about his questioning of authorities.
Mr Ramos was the last journalist to interview Mr Duval on 9 December, the day before he was killed.
He had just finished filming a short video for the GetOutRadio news channel, when three men approached the bar he was sitting in and told him to go inside.
Mr Duval, who was reportedly drinking with some other journalists, then got into a fight with the men, one of whom drew out a pistol and fired a shot.

No detail was immediately available about the type of gun or ammunition used in the attack.
Mr Duval graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2013, according to Philippines media.
He worked as a reporter and at the moment was freelance for various media outlets.
“It is terribly sad that someone of Filipinos’ strength has been taken away. I am sure he has a son and daughter who will feel his absence very deeply,” Mr Ramos said.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has previously criticised and threatened some media organisations for what he said was bias and criticism.
Mr Duterte won the presidency by promising to be tough on crime and corruption.
