Trent Alexander-Arnold: ‘Man City is the biggest game of the season’

Trent Alexander-Arnold has told Sky Sports News he expects Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season.

The England international joined the Reds from Liverpool on a four-year deal in the summer, signing a five-year deal with the Black Cats.

The 26-year-old, who won the FA Cup, Premier League and EFL Cup during his first stint with the club, is confident United can challenge for the Premier League title.

“You’ve got Manchester City. The big games are Manchester City and Man United; they’re two big games, it’s going to take all of us to get the win,” he told Sky in his pre-match press conference on Sunday.

“United’s a great side, it’s going to be a great challenge for us. We’ve got to keep going. One step at a time.

“We’ve got a great squad, a great manager, a great coach,” he added. “It’s a great challenge.

“We’re going to do everything that can to get it done at the end of the season. We’ve got to keep going and keep playing well.”

‘I’ve never doubted Man City’

Alexander-Arnold has been a long-term target for the Reds, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and the Los Angeles Galaxy all reported to be interested in the England international, per Sky Sports News.

But after the Reds were beaten by Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup — Liverpool won in the third round of the League Cup — they faced City a few days later for the second leg of the semi-final.

Alexander-Arnold scored his first goal for the Reds off the bench in the 7-3 win, and celebrated with his team-mates after the final whistle, according to the Independent.

“I’ve never doubted Man City,” he said. “
