(CNN) — Elon Musk is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. He is the CEO of SpaceX, a rocket company that has been responsible for the first person to send a satellite into orbit and the first to land on a planet.
But in all the success that comes with being one of the most influential minds in the world, there seems to be one little catch.
Even though Musk is arguably more well-known than any human who has ever lived, if you ask a random stranger he is probably not the first name that pops into your head.

And that’s not surprising when you consider how few people actually know about him, and even if they did, they may not be familiar with his personal life.
“If you’ve never heard of Elon Musk, you need to go to someone’s bathroom,” says Ryan Mac, who founded the social media company Fling on Twitter.
“If you do not know who Elon Musk is, you’re in a world of trouble. If you’re not an investor, you’re in a world of trouble. If you’re not a business owner, you’re in a world of trouble. If you’re not a musician, you’re in a world of trouble. The whole idea behind what Musk does is to create the world’s biggest, best-designed, and highest-performance rockets. They’re like rockets in the sky. They’re beautiful. They’re very complicated. They’re extremely reliable,” Mac says.
“I didn’t know anything about Elon Musk until I met him. I didn’t know who his parents were. I didn’t know who his friends were. I didn’t know anything unless I started spending time with him,” Mac says.
