Newsom said he will meet with the media tomorrow but the governor’s press secretary, Dan Hirschfeld, said he doesn’t anticipate a press conference Tuesday.
In a statement, the Department of Health said the victims were part of the Upland Fire and there are six people on a ventilator at Highland Hospital.
Citing the medical director at Highland Hospital, the statement said that “all patients with smoke inhalation are receiving care at Highland Hospital including patients with significant burns and patients with other injuries.
“This includes multiple patients on ventilators and one patient with burns that were significant.”
The statement said “all patients have been treated with the resources available.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
