Trent Alexander-Arnold: ‘Man City is the biggest game of the season’

Liverpool midfielder Trent Alexander-Arnold has urged his team-mates to ignore the result and get their man.

The Liverpool midfielder, who is now on loan at Arsenal, is set to miss Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Burnley with a hamstring problem but insists nothing should prevent the Reds from continuing their title challenge.

“With the way City are on and away, we’re going to need a man or two in behind the back four of Harry [Kane] and Joe Hart,” the England international told Liverpool’s official website.

“We’re going to need to get in behind it, and that’s what’s needed. We’re going to need a bit of a boost, so we need to get in as many situations and as many chances as we can.

“Man City are the biggest game of the season and we’re the biggest team, and that’s what we have to go out and do.”

Alexander-Arnold, who has 17 Premier League assists in the past five seasons for the Reds, scored his 17th league goal of the season in his team’s 3-1 win over Swansea last weekend.

Liverpool are four points behind fifth-placed Chelsea but three clear of the chasing pack after winning three of their four away matches in a run which has seen them drop just two points in three matches.
